Ashburton Investments has appointed Patrice Rassou in the newly-created role of chief investment officer, effective from April 2020.
Rassou joins Ashburton, the asset management business of FirstRand, from Sanlam Investment Managers where he was head of equities. The new role has been created to coordinate the various investment management activities of the FirstRand group and follows a review of Ashburton Investments' strategic positioning to "ensure it is fully enabled to scale". FirstRand COO Mary Vilakazi said that to be able to attract an investment professional of Patrice's calibre was "a coup" for the company.
