HSBC GAM unveils new passive EM debt fund

Domiciled in Ireland under ICAV platform

HSBC Global Asset Management has launched a global emerging market government bond index fund, managed by the firm's passive fixed income team.

The asset manager said the new fund aims to replicate the performance of the JP Morgan EMBI Global Diversified Total Return index and to offer investors a cost-efficient way to invest in diversified emerging market government debt denominated in US dollars. HSBC GAM's passive fixed income team is headed up by Sebastien Faucher and uses an investment approach based on "intelligent indexation", which focuses on close index tracking and minimising transaction costs.
