Janus Henderson: 'Marked' dividend growth slowdown underway

Global dividends broke a Q3 record this year, rising 2.8% to $355.3bn on a headline basis, yet the pace at which they are rising continues to slow, according to Janus Henderson Investors' Global Dividend Index.

Despite the continued trend of a slowdown in global dividend growth, which began in Q2 2019, global dividends are still "growing comfortably", with a 5.3% underlying growth rate. This figure is "exactly in line" with Janus Henderson's forecast, the report said. Global dividend payments almost double over decade Janus Henderson has left its global dividend forecast for 2019 unchanged at $1.4trn, which represents a headline increase of 3.9%, equivalent to underlying growth of 5.4%.
