FCA's Bailey confirmed as Carney successor at BoE - update

Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) chief Andrew Bailey has been confirmed as the next Governor of the Bank of England (BoE).

Bailey has been selected as Mark Carney's replacement, the Government has confirmed, with Her Majesty the Queen approving the appointment. Bailey will become the new Governor of the Bank of England from 16 March 2020, with the current Governor, Mark Carney, agreeing to complete his term on 15 March 2020 to provide a smooth transition.
