David Potter, chair of the Gresham House Strategic investment trust (GHS), has announced that he will be retiring from the board and will not be standing for re-election at the forthcoming annual general meeting (AGM) in September.

A process to identify a successor has already commenced. This comes following a call from Gresham House, which is a major shareholder of GHS, for an extraordinary general meeting, in which the shareholders of GHS will consider six potential resolutions: to remove Potter from GHS with immediate effect; to appoint either Jeston Na Nakhorn, Helen Sinclair or Kenneth Lever into varying senior roles; to undertake a review of the strategy of GHS or to remove any appointee of GHS's board between the date of requisition and the conclusion of the EGM as a director.
