Sustainable Festival: ShareAction boss hopes UK firms don't follow FAANG approach to stewardship

ShareAction CEO Catherine Howarth hopes UK businesses continue to pioneer investor stewardship standards and refrain from adopting FAANGs’ standoffish approach.

Speaking at the Sustainable Investment Festival, Howarth pointed to the tech giant FAANGs which have often been criticised for workplace practices but have so far been unwilling to engage. "It's a huge challenge as a lot of the giant tech companies have armed themselves with corporate governance arrangements that very much limit the scope for shareholder dialogue," explained Howarth to the Sustainable Investment Festival audience.
