Asset Value Investors has strengthened its Japan team with the hire of investment analyst Shuntaro Shimizu to support the AVI Global and AVI Japan Opportunities trusts.
Based in London, Shimizu, who joined after three years as a manager at Bain & Company, will support the company's research and engagement efforts in Japan. Previously, he worked at the Bank of Japan. The AVI Global and AVI Japan Opportunities trusts employ a balanced approach to shareholder engagement in Japan, following the trend towards improved corporate governance in the country.
