Global Smaller Companies’ Anja Balfour is temporarily stepping down from her role as chair due to scheduled medical treatment.

In an RNS notice published today (8 November), the management said Balfour will remain on the board of the company and they expect her to return to her role as chair in the new year. In her temporary absence, Graham Oldroyd, independent non-executive director of the trust, will take over as chair until Balfour's return. Columbia Threadneedle shutters CT Asia Pacific Equity fund Balfour was appointed to the board in 2015. She is also a non-executive director of AVI Global trust.
