Waverton and London & Capital set to merge as £17bn wealth manager

Waverton Investment Management and London & Capital Group have agreed to merge, creating a £17bn independent wealth manager.

The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, will bring together the international advice and planning expertise of London & Capital with the investment performance and wealth solutions of Waverton. According to the firms, the merger will expand client offerings and international footprints with "enhanced" investment opportunities, financial planning expertise and broader client propositions. Guy McGlashan, CEO of London & Capital, will be CEO of the combined businesses, which will be backed by US-based private equity firm Lovell Minnick Partners with a majority shareholding.  ...
