Private assets boss Will Nicoll takes over

Royal London Asset Management head of fixed income Jonathan Platt will retire at the end of the year after nearly 40 years at the company.

He will be succeeded by head of private assets Will Nicoll, who will retain his current responsibilities alongside taking over the leadership of the fixed income team. Last year, Platt stepped down from managing the Royal London Corporate Bond fund, but remained as manager of the Royal London Bond Monthly Income trust. Piers Hillier, CIO at RLAM, commended Platt for his "extraordinary career" at the firm, as he had been responsible for building the fixed income offering "from scratch".
