UK retail sales fall 3.3% in November in 'bad start to festive season'

Total retail sales in the UK slumped by 3.3% year-on-year in November, compared with a growth of 2.6% in November 2023.

According to data released by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) today (3 December), the November 2024 figure stood below both the three-month and 12-month averages of -0.1% and 0.5%, respectively.
