Around 41% of boutique asset managers said investment product distribution was an issue "to some extent", according to the Independent Investment Management Initiative's (IIMI).
In addition, IIMI's research, which surveyed 87 mainly European boutique asset managers, found that 39% of respondents saw distribution as an "significant" threat, while 5% called it "existential".
