Access to financial education. Improved financial literacy. Access to social capital. Options. Choice. These are the core underlying values of The Skills Workshop; an initiative launched on 7 June in conjunction with #TalkAboutBlack, CFA Society UK, EnCircle and the Diversity Project, alongside more than 60 other partner organisations to help equip future talent with the insight, knowledge, and skills needed to succeed.
The programme runs for six months, is delivered by hundreds of volunteers, and is free and open to all students, but with a particular focus on encouraging uptake from ethnic minority students from socially and economically deprived backgrounds. Its aim is to increase the diversity of candidates looking to enter the industry, prepare them for application success and to tackle underrepresentation.
