The International Energy Agency (IEA) concludes that next winter could be even worse for Europe if we don't make more changes on how we use energy. These changes mean better insulated houses, more renewable electricity, and replacement of fossil fuel boilers with heat pumps. Higher gas prices mean that in many countries, the costs of installing and running a heat pump are now lower than a conventional boiler.
