Janus targets UK in hope of emulating US success

US fund group Janus Capital is focusing on UK's sophisticated fund pickers to boost its profile outside America, writes Joanna Faith

UK investors may not be familiar with the name Janus Capital but across the Atlantic it is very a different story. The group is so well-known if you walk down a US street, eight out of ten people will know the brand, according to its head of European distribution, Michael Jones. This is something the firm hopes to emulate in the UK, although Jones admits it has a big job ahead.
