Somerset Capital Management's George Birch Reynardson explains how he has dealt with the challenges of investing in 'volatile' frontier markets and the importance of looking at stocks objectively.

The collapse of oil prices and negative investor sentiment towards emerging markets meant George Birch Reynardson's first fund launch has had a number of headwinds to deal with in its first few years. Birch Reynardson, 31, is manager of the $14.8m Somerset Capital Frontier fund, which was launched for him by the boutique manager in December 2013. He joined the emerging market-focused group Somerset Capital Management as an analyst in 2007, following the completion of his degree at the University of Oxford.
