Martin Currie has appointed Alan Porter co-manager on its Global and Global Alpha funds, as of 1 July.
He was previously a senior member of the group's global equity team, having joined the company last September. Porter has 17 years' experience working in global equity markets, including on Martin Currie's team of 14 sector analysts. Andy Sowerby, Martin Currie's managing director of sales, marketing and client service, says: "Since his arrival, Alan has quickly proven to us that he is a very talented investor." Chief investment officer James Fairweather adds Porter's promotion will benefit investors.
