Global markets fall on fresh Greek concerns

US markets opened lower this afternoon, following falls across Europe today as fears of a Greek default resurfaced once more.

The Dow Jones dropped 1.02% to 10,880 and the S&P 500 fell 0.92% to 1,143 in early trading. Meanwhile, European markets continued to feel the impact of fresh fears over Greece defaulting on its debts, after German news reports emerged this morning saying  Greece is preparing for an orderly default, the BBC reported. The EuroStoxx 50 lost 3.76% to reach 1,995, while France's main index, the Cac 40, plunged 4.02% to 2,855, and the German Dax dropped 2.87% to 5,040.
