BlackRock has launched a range of funds investing in a number of index trackers, as it moves to compete with the rise in demand for low-cost funds ahead of RDR.
The five BlackRock Consensus funds offer exposure to all major asset classes, providing investors with varying levels of exposure to higher-risk equities. The portfolios - essentially a range of fund of index funds - have an AMC of just 0.2%, well below the standard 1.5% AMC on many traditional funds. Each Consensus fund also has an independent risk-rating out of ten provided by Distribution Technology. They are managed by BlackRock's Multi-Asset Client Solutions portfolio management team.
