Firms warned about phony FSA staff

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has warned of a second man contacting firms pretending to be from the regulator.

It said an individual using the name Mark Davies has been calling firms and attempting to obtain guidelines for sales on cash and trade. This follows on from a warning last month about another individual, using the name Chris Moore, who has been attempting to obtain information on compliance structures and even referring to forthcoming regulatory visits. "You should exercise caution in the event that you receive a similar call," the FSA said.
