Sants to join British Bankers' Association board - reports

Former Financial Services Authority CEO Sir Hector Sants is to join the board of the British Bankers' Association (BBA) lobbying group, according to reports.

Sants, who joined Barclays earlier this year as head of compliance and was knighted in the New Year honours list, will attend his first BBA board meeting this autumn, Sky News reports. He replaces his colleague Matt Hammerstein as the bank's BBA representative, the latter now moving to a new role within Barclays' business, according to the news agency. The BBA's forthcoming meeting will be its first since the announcement that is it to hand over responsibility for administering LIBOR to US operator NYSE Euronext in 2014.
