Smith & Williamson Investment Management has promoted Mickey Morrissey to the role of head of distribution for pooled funds and discretionary fund management business.

Morrissey (pictured) joined the firm in 2012 with the remit of promoting the discretionary management business to the professional financial advisory sector.

He was previously head of distribution at Liontrust Asset Management.

S&W's head of distribution role had become vacant after Nick Hodgson moved up to become head of marketing for the group.

Ed Rosengarten, head of the firm's funds business, said: "We are very pleased Mickey has accepted this role as head of distribution to further develop the pooled funds and DFM business for Smith & Williamson.

"Following Nick Hodgson’s move to become head of marketing for the Smith & Williamson group, this further supports our ambitious plans for the firm over the coming years.”
