Veritas recruits former UBS AM head as CEO

Veritas Asset Management has hired Ian Barnes, the former head of UBS Asset Management in the UK, as its chief executive officer, joining early 2017.

Since 2012, he has held the position of head of UBS Asset Management, UK & Ireland, where he was both head of distribution for its UK clients and responsible for manufacturing and distributing investment product in the UK. Prior to this, he spent 11 years at Russell Investments where he held a number of senior investment, fiduciary management and business roles. At Veritas, he will be joining the managing partners board, which will also comprise the firm's existing partners - Charles Richardson, Andy Headley, Ezra Sun and Richard Grant.
