Janus Henderson unveils global head of fixed income ahead of merger

Merger set to complete in 2017

Janus Henderson Global Investors has appointed Kumar Palghat as global head of fixed income ahead of their "merger of equals", which was announced earlier this month.

Palghat, who managed an Absolute Return Income Fund at Janus Capital, is the first appointment revealed by the groups since they announced they will be uniting the two businesses a few weeks ago. Palghat was the managing director and founder of Kapstream Capital for nine years, which was subsequently bought by Janus Capital, and executive director of PIMCO, where he worked alongside star manager, Bill Gross.
