Anand Gupta, manager of Eastspring Investment's India Discovery fund, has predicted "has a 30-year runway of growth" in the region, making it one of the most attractive countries in the world.
Gupta said: "Growth in capital in India has a 30-year runway, no other country has that long a runway." The country's index, the Sensex, has had strong performance this year, rising 7.56% to 28,091 points with Gupta expecting this to continue as, with a number of reforms taken place in recent years in India, there has been an increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) totalling around $50bn. These reforms include the Goods and Services Tax, which will bring much of India's informal economy into the mainstream and will add 2% to GDP within two years of implementation in April 2017. ...
