Oil price spikes 8% as OPEC agrees production cut

Brent crude has jumped more than 8% to trade above $50 per barrel, after OPEC members agreed to cut oil production by 1.2 million barrels per day.

At a meeting in Vienna today, members of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) have agreed to cut oil production to 32.5m barrels a day from January 2017.
