Initiative to raise money for Cancer Research UK

CASCAID, the initiative by the asset and wealth management industries to raise £1m for Cancer Research UK, has achieved nearly a third of its target after less than three months.

The latest contributions came via sponsorship of Investec's UK fund manager Simon Brazier and some of his colleagues, who scaled a series of mountains in South Africa earlier this month. Hot on the heels of Investec's effort comes a 24-hour darts marathon featuring Chelsea Financial Services' managing director Darius 'Bullseye' McDermott next month. Previously, AXA IM's Rob Bailey took on all challengers in a day-long ping pong competition, and in May Investment Week is organising an industry-wide pub quiz.
