Nicolas Trindade, manager of the Global Short Duration Bond fund at AXA Investment Managers, has said this environment of historically low levels of volatility will not continue, especially in the UK market.
Speaking to Investment Week after the launch of the fund in May, Trindade said he did not want to be overweight the UK as the "current political situation was unsustainable". Prime Minister Theresa May failed to gain a majority in the General Election winning only 317 seats, nine short of the 326 required, meaning she was forced to form a minority government with the backing of the Democratic Unionist Party.
