Schroders has hired Robeco's global head of private equity Reto Schwager as CEO of Schroder Adveq, replacing Sven Liden who left the firm in August.
Prior to Robeco, Schwager spent seven years at AIG where he held a number of roles including managing director and chairman of AIG Investment, Europe. Joining on 1 January 2018, he will be based in Zurich and will report to Schroder Adveq's executive chairman Stephen Mills, who will assume CEO responsibilities during the interim period. Schwager replaces Sven Liden, who was CEO of the firm since 2011 and oversaw the sale of the private solutions business to Schroders from Adveq Holding AG in April.
