IA appoints ETF committee's first chairman

The Investment Association (IA) has appointed Adam Laird, head of ETF strategy for Northern Europe at Lyxor ETF, as the first chairman of its ETF committee.

The committee was formed in late 2016 to discuss key issues relating to the ETF sector, with members so far including Vanguard, BlackRock and Amundi. Laird told Investment Week: "The IA represents the fund industry and the incorporation of ETFs is recognition that ETFs are now part of the investing landscape and are here to stay. "I am hoping to use the forum to grow the visibility of ETFs and help improve understanding with investors and regulators."
