Asian equities head Donegan to retire from Columbia Threadneedle

Vanessa Donegan, head of Asian equities at Columbia Threadneedle is set to retire at the end of the year following 32 years at the firm and its predecessors.

Donegan (pictured) will oversee the transitioning of portfolios over the next few months with lead managers formally taking over on 1 October. Subject to approval, the £612m Threadneedle Asia fund will be co-managed by George Gosden and Soo Nam Ng while the £131m China Opportunities fund will be run by current deputy manager Jin Xiu, who will become lead manager on 1 October. Having started her career at Grieveson Grant Stockbrokers in 1981, Donegan subsequently joined Allied Dunbar Asset Management in 1986, which merged with Eagle Star to form Threadneedle Asset Management in 1994. ...
