BlackRock teams up with MSCI to launch emerging market value ETF

BlackRock has unveiled an emerging market value exchange-traded fund, which it has developed together with MSCI in response to increasing demand for smart-beta products providing access to the region.

The iShares Edge MSCI EM Value Factor UCITS ETF has been listed on the London Stock Exchange with a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.40%. The ETF will track the MSCI Emerging Market Select Value Factor Focus index and will implement an optimisation process on top of this in order to mitigate the country-specific risk. Furthermore, in order to avoid issues such as the ‘value trap', the strategy takes into account forward looking metrics such as the P/E and price to book ratios.
