AXA IM's Thomas warns of 'uncertain' outlook for global economy in final farewell

In his final report before retirement, AXA IM's Nigel Thomas highlighted the changes that had a major impact on the industry during his 40-year career, while warning of an "uncertain" outlook for the global economy as "amber lights" begin to flash.

Thomas is set to retire in March 2019 following a four-decade career in investment management, with Chris St John taking over control of his £3bn UK Select Opportunities fund. In 2015, Thomas was awarded the 'Outstanding Contribution to Fund Management' award at the Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year Awards.
