Experienced fund managers generally dislike being referred to as 'veterans' in the media. Indeed, it is not easy to define exactly who is included in this illustrious group, with some arguing it could even encompass most managers who were working in the sector before the 2007-08 financial crisis.

However, time in the market counts in our industry, which probably explains why two octogenarians have been dominating our Best Read lists on investmentweek.co.uk in recent weeks.
