Amundi poaches global ETF head from BlackRock

Amundi has hired Benoit Sorel as global head of ETF, indexing and smart beta business line from BlackRock.

At BlackRock, Sorel worked as a managing director since 2018, and was responsible for leading the EMEA product and distribution strategy for ETFs and index investing. Before this, he headed sales at the firm for ETFs and index investing in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Monaco. Amundi posts €13.7bn inflows in Q3 driven by passives Earlier in his career, Sorel held several senior positions in business development on equity derivatives at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and Bank of America.
